Glossary

Mutual betting:

It is the most popular form of betting on horse races. The term comes from France and means "betting among ourselves." The total stake (pool) distributed to the winners, after deduction of management rates, taxes, etc. Mutual betting differs from fixed odds betting on the fact that the payment amount is not fixed until all bets are settled (in fixed odds payment is determined on bet placement).

Win/Ganian: A bet picking a horse to finish first.

Place: A bet picking a horse to finish first, second, third or fourth depending on the number of horses participating

Greek horse races program (Greece&France):

• In races with 5-8 horses, you must predict one of 2 first horses.
• In races with 9 horses or more, you must predict one of 3 first horses.

Cypriot horse races program (Cyprus):

• In races with 7 horses or more, you must predict one of 2 first horses.

U.K & Ireland:

• In races with 5-7 horses, you must predict one of 2 first horses.
• In races with 8-15 horses, you must predict one of 3 first horses.
• In races with 16 horses or more, you must predict one of 3 first horses.
• In handicap races with 16 horses or more, you must predict one of 4 first horses.

South Africa:

• In races with 6-7 horses, you must predict one of 2 first horses.
• In races with 8-15 horses, you must predict one of 3 first horses.
• In races with 16 horses or more, you must predict one of 4 first horses.

Quinella/Didimo: A bet picking the first 2 finishers in any order.

Exacta/Forcast: A bet picking the first 2 finishers in exact order.

Trio: A bet picking the first 3 finishers in any order.

Trifecta/Tricast: A bet picking the first 3 finishers in exact order.

Superfecta/Tetraplo: A bet picking the first 4 finishers in exact order.

Double/ Sintheto: A bet picking the winners of two consecutive races.

DoubleQuinella: A bet picking the first 2 finishers in any order of two consecutive races.

Pick Score 3 : A bet picking the winners of 3 specific races. These are displayed in the daily race program.

Pick Score 4: A bet picking the winners of 4 specific races. These are displayed in the daily race program.

Pick Score 6: A bet picking the winners of 6 specific races. These are displayed in the daily race program.

Pick Score 9 (Cyprus): A bet picking the winners of 9 specific races.

*All doubles and multiple races bets are usually offered for races of the same program.
